2/3 of this nappy is biodegradable (it is
ideal for those with compost heaps, as the remaining one third of the
nappy is environmentally neutral).
This is a very soft nappy, and it is
unique in that it has tiny pores throughout the outer cover to allow air
to circulate. Unusually, for a an ecodisposable nappy, these are
actually white in colour, but the nappies have been bleached without the
use of chlorine or harmful chemicals.
The nappy outer is made of a GM free
maize/corn starch based material. The core of the nappy is mainly
cellulose based, using wood from sustainable forests. The
absorbency of the nappy has been boosted by including an absorbing agent
(which is 20% biodegradable) and an extract of tea. This tea
extract helps to neutralise odours.
NB: If putting disposable nappies on a
compost heap, the solid soiling MUST be removed and flushed away before
putting on the compost heap.
The nappies come in a cardboard box,
which can either be reused for storage or recycled. There is no
plastic packaging.
